Lines of Work

honor the art of workers - submit your art - view and enjoy the art of others

contributors

If you are an artist - if you draw, paint, sing, write poetry or stories, carve, sculpt, cast or work in any other form of artistic expression, you are welcome to contribute.

If you don't feel like sharing your art, at least enjoy what others have shared.

This site is dedicated to exhibiting the beauty of work, and showcasing the  talent of those who perform it.   Too often, working people are forced to suppress their talents in the effort to put food on the table, and keep a roof over their heads.  There is much talent that is never developed because society is set up so that energy must be used for working overtime, two jobs, or tending to exhausted and aching muscles.

If dreams come true, this site may help to showcase some wonderful talents, by some truly fantastic people, that might not otherwise be shared.  There is beauty and dignity in work, and in those who perform it.

So, enjoy your visit, and spread the word.  Someday society may begin to address the social ills that get in the way of the freedom to express what is in our hearts, but until then - Lines of Work will serve to provide a light on those who work, or create gifts about work.

While the struggle to eliminate poverty, homelessness, sickness, hunger, and bigotry goes on - we share.  The pain of neglect and ignorance, or the beauty of the blessings around us - all are inspiring.

Maybe someday we will see a world where people who honestly apply their skills will receive full compensation for them, and be able to have time for enjoying family, and other interests such as the arts.  Maybe someday we will understand that the wealth produced by workers can come in may shapes and styles, not just in the kind that is locked up in banks by a small elite sector of society.

Help us, don't deny the opportunity for exhibiting the talents that you possess.  Enjoy the images, poetry or artifacts shown on this site; think about the freedom that the arts present to those who create or support them.  If you are interested in commenting or sharing, or if you want to know more about improving conditions in your workplace, please contact us.

Then I realized I was somebody."
